Sometimes you have to experience what you don't want in life to come to a full understanding of what you do want. You have to let go of the picture of what you thought life would be like and learn to find joy in the story you are actually living. "No matter how hard it is, or how hard it gets, I am going to make it!"
Rina is a licensed acupuncturist practicing in the western suburbs of
Chicago and board-certified by the National Certification of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). Rina has over 20 years of medical experience as a certified nurse assistant cross-trained to become an EMT, as well as prior dedication as a physical therapy technician before pursuing acupuncture.
Rina graduated as a Salutatorian from National University of Health
Science with her Master of Science in Acupuncture in Lombard, IL,
and completed her certificate in Chinese Herbal Medicine through
Pacific College of Health and Science in Chicago, IL. Rina continues
her studies to earn a Doctor of Acupuncture with a Chinese Herbal
Medicine Specialization in San Diego, California. Before entering the
graduate program, Rina was an alumna of Northern Illinois
University, where she focused on the Science of Communication
Disorders and specialized in BioMed. During her exposure to clinic
rotations at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County, Rina found
her focus on pain management and infertility grew. With her passion
for many decades in the healthcare industry, experience as a holistic
doula, a passion for fitness and well-being, she effortlessly and
seamlessly bridges the gap between Eastern and Western healing
paradigms.
One can say, that Rina is a Jane with many trades from the beginning
of life to her ideal of prevention and maintaining the quality of life.
On top of her many years in outpatient and in-patient clinical
settings, Rina is a certified birth and post-partum holistic doula, reiki
practitioner, and reflexologist. A passionate advocate for fitness,
Rina is a group fitness instructor who hypes Muay Thai and
kickboxing with HIIT formats, and a dedicated rock-steady boxing
coach to her Parkinson’s “crew”.
Rina loves to do community outreach as an advocate for seniors'
quality of life as a mobility and balance educator. She provides and
leads low-intensity fitness classes for older adults following protocol
through the Arthritis Foundation: Tai Chi, Qi Gong, BINGOcize,
chair yoga, aquatic exercises, and strength training.
